zkeys and ecto...wondering - Guild Wars Forums

so i've been gone a couple weeks and when i came back...ecto prices skyrocketed to about 5k ea (was ~4.3k) and zkeys went back down to 4k ea (was ~4.5k)

can someone tell me what caused the prices to change so much in the last 2 weeks?

zkey went so slow because of the stupid RR retards whom got z keys very fast and if there are a lot of z keys the price goes down ... dang i hate RR people use to like HB

Ectos price went up coz everyone thought there was gonna be a nerf to SF and ppl have been hoarding them.

Actually... To be more precise, ectos have gone fron 4.5k to 7k (only see it hit 7k once and hasn't gone higher than 6.5 since) and zkeys have gone from 4k ea to 3.5-3.7k.

Skyrocketed?
You realize that material prices can only increase in certain set increments? (like how steel can only go up in cost by increments of 10). It's not that big of a deal compared to ecto when it was 13k a piece. Even if/when SF is nerfed, prices may increase a little bit as people start to panic... but it will quickly settle down again since not that many people actually sell ectos to the trader (which is what sets the market price in the first place). Everybody who thinks ectos will double in price and are hoarding them to try to manipulate the market will be sadly disappointed. This has happened when every UW farm nerf occurs. Prices spike up 2-3k for the first few weeks, and then slump back down to normal.

Basically, the hb zquest allowed people to make stacks of zkeys with no effort over the course of the day. Then they tried to trade for ectos. Result: zkeys lose value, ectos gain value. Everyone assumes there's going to be a sf nerf, so they start hoarding ectos. Result: ectos gain value. It'll settle down as the zkeys get used, and people figure out how to uwsc reliably again.

People tend to blow things out of proportion. Ectos were once 15k+ per unit. Nowadays they hover around 4.5-6k. I'm sorry but that's not something to panic about because ectos have always been +/- 1.5k every few months for as long as I can remember.

The really stupid part is....
When ectos drop in value by 500g-1k people cry because the economy is destroyed
When ectos rise in value by 500g-1k people cry because the economy is destroyed
